5-day ACTING WORKSHOP for STAGE and SCREEN.
Rolling... and ACTION! Join us for an unforgettable five-day adventure where students will step into the world of acting and immerse themselves in theatre and film making. Students will study acting and voice technique and learn the fundamental stagecraft skills, healthy vocal projection and diction needed for powerful stage performances. Students will also dive into the world of film in a very practical way! We will be learning about shots, film set etiquette, and how to work with a camera (both in front and behind). Students will film a self-tape for a mock audition including a slate and monologue or scene. The students will then work in small groups to shoot a short film. Students will be actors in their own short film and also step into a crew role - director, assistant director, camera operator, slating, sound, and script supervisor!
This program has been developed by professionals as an introduction to the theatre and film industries. This holiday workshop is designed for teens interested in acting, theatre and film-making careers. Students aged 9+ are welcome to enrol, but please keep in mind for younger students that this is a big week with a lot to learn. Students are given the responsibility of handling camera equipment and (with the assistance of teachers), getting through their shot lists so short films can be finished in time!
