WHAT TO EXPECT
Students will spend their days working with their scripts, teachers and cast mates to learn lines and develop their characters. We’ll have music rehearsals where students will learn about voice technique, harmonies and projection; dance workshops working with the choreographer to piece together group dance numbers and featured solos; and acting one-on-one's for scene work in the show. The venue hosts many breakout spaces so our team of passionate and experienced teachers can provide optimal learning environments for the different age groups and skill levels in the cast.
The teachers will also hold a Q&A session for students about the theatre industry during a lunchtime - a great opportunity for older students who are interested in a career in the arts to ask any questions.
We’ll have morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks daily (BYO food). The show will be on Saturday at 2pm complete with lights, microphones, sets and costumes. Cast, friends and family are invited to join us for a pizza party in the foyer after the show.
AUDITIONS: Auditions for lead roles will be announced. Auditions are not compulsory. Regardless of your role, every workshop participant will be working full-time throughout the week both in groups and one-on-one to learn choreography, music and acting. The members of the ensemble are often the busiest members of the cast, playing multiple roles with quick changes, learning the music and choreography across the whole show and forming a crucial part of the team. We look forward to working with you!
