WHAT TO EXPECT
Students will spend their days working with their scripts, teachers and cast mates to learn lines and develop their characters. We’ll have music rehearsals where students will learn about voice technique, harmonies and projection; dance workshops working with the choreographer to piece together group dance numbers and featured solos; and sessions with an acting coach to develop characters and learn scenes in the show.
Our venue offers multiple breakout spaces so our passionate, experienced teachers can create optimal learning environments for different age groups and skill levels.
On Saturday 4th October, we’ll be doing a two-show day. Students will perform a matinee at 2:00 pm and a second evening show at 5:00–6:00 pm. After the matinee, they’ll enjoy pizza, snacks and a drink (provided), and can either stay with us for games, a movie, and downtime, or head home and return by 4:30 pm. The day will finish by 6:30 pm.
We’ll have morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea breaks daily (BYO food throughout the week). Both Saturday shows will be complete with lights, microphones, sets, and costumes.
AUDITIONS - Click here for details
Auditions for lead roles will be open from Tuesday 12th August. Auditions are optional. Regardless of their role, every participant will be fully involved in learning choreography, music, and acting. Ensemble members are often the busiest in the cast, playing multiple roles with quick changes, singing all the music and learning choreography across the whole show. Every cats member will be a crucial part of the team.
If your child would like to be considered for a lead or supporting role, they will need to prepare and submit a video audition. We have step-by-step guides for these auditions, so even if you're new to theatre, we're here to help every step of the way.
